Erica Dicker

Born into a musical family, violinist and improviser Erica Dicker developed a diverse musical apatite at an early age. Also an adept orchestral player, Erica has performed in various regional orchestras throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan, holding leadership positions in the South Bend and Peoria Symphonies. Erica played with the Bergische Symphoniker in Solingen, Germany from 2005-06 as well as taking part in projects by the Rheingold Kammerorchester in Cologne. She
has also attended several music festivals including Spoleto USA, Bachakademie Stuttgart, and the National Repertory Orchestra.

Through chamber music and improvisation, Erica enjoys a life of rich collaboration. Alongside composer and electronic musician Ryan Ingebritsen, Erica explores real time processing and electronic manipulation of the baritone violin in their duo project, The Elementary Princess of Evil! She has toured with Anthony Braxton and is part of his Falling
River Quartet. As a Chicago resident, Erica was part of the band Roommate, and also made appearances with Kaspar Hauser and Bevel. She especially enjoys interpreting the musical works of her friends and has contributed to projects by Chicago artists Tim Daisy, Tobin Summerfield, and Matt Lux. Erica is a founding member of Till By Turning.

Erica's primary teachers include Gabriel Pegis, Marilyn McDonald, and Jorja Fleezanis. She earned her degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (BM) and the University of Minnesota (MM). Erica currently resides in Brooklyn.
